Rickenbacker 480
The Rickenbacker 480 is an electric guitar from the company's range of the 1970s, built to a solid-body specification unlike the hollow and semi-hollow instruments that had made its reputation. It has a double-cutaway body with the maker's characteristic outline, a bolt-on or set neck and two of the company's own pickups with a control layout including separate volume and tone controls and a mix control, giving the bright, clear and jangly voice associated with Rickenbacker instruments. Guitars in the 480 range were produced for a limited period and are less common than the company's better known models.
