Roland CR-8000 CompuRhythm
The Roland CR-8000 CompuRhythm is an analogue drum machine from the company's CompuRhythm line, introduced in the early 1980s as a more elaborate successor to the earlier models in the series. It generates its percussion voices with analogue circuits and offers a wider set of preset patterns together with programmable rhythms, individual level controls for each instrument and a set of trigger outputs for driving other equipment. Machines of this kind supplied rhythmic accompaniment before sampling became standard, and they are collected now for their particular sound and for their place in the development of the drum machine.
