Roland JD series
The Roland JD series is a line of digital synthesizers the company produced at the beginning of the 1990s. The instruments generate their sounds by combining sampled waveforms with digital synthesis, and they are programmed through a large panel of sliders and buttons, so that the principal parameters of a sound can be adjusted directly rather than through menus. The series includes keyboard and rack versions, and it was used widely in the electronic and popular music of the period, developing the approach the company had taken in its earlier digital instruments.
