Tele-Gib
The Tele-Gib is the nickname of a Fender Telecaster belonging to Jeff Beck that was modified by the pickup maker Seymour Duncan. The guitar was fitted with Gibson humbucking pickups in place of the original single coils, together with larger frets, changes that turned a bright, twangy instrument into something much closer to a Les Paul in voice, with a thicker, fuller and more sustaining tone. The guitar was then handed on to the player, and it became one of the instruments he used in the 1970s, demonstrating how far a Telecaster can be altered without changing its shape.
