Yamaha QY series
The Yamaha QY series is a family of portable sequencers and sound modules the company introduced at the beginning of the 1990s. The instruments fit in the hand or in a small bag, contain a set of synthesised sounds and percussion kits, and allow musical parts to be recorded and arranged either from the buttons on the unit or from an external keyboard, so that a complete piece can be written while travelling. They were used by songwriters and by electronic musicians of the period, and the series has been revised through several models.
