Why it matters
The DGT is one of PRS's longest-running artist models, and it departs from the Core recipe in specific ways rather than cosmetically: a thicker neck carve, taller frets, dedicated humbuckers with split capability, and fewer controls than a Custom. Core examples list around $4,420, which puts it level with the Custom 24 rather than beneath it. Its following comes mostly from players who want a humbucking single-cut that feels closer to an older instrument under the fretting hand.
Note
David Grissom signature; two humbuckers with split capability and simplified controls.
Specifications
- Scale length: 635 mm (25 in)
- Neck shape: DGT
Before you buy
- The neck carve is the whole point of the model, so play one before deciding the shape suits
- Split-coil tones vary a lot with amplifier and volume settings
- Semi-hollow versions cost more and are a different instrument rather than a trim level
