Greeny
Greeny is the nickname of a sunburst Gibson Les Paul Standard of 1959, one of the most celebrated individual guitars in rock. Its early history is bound up with the British blues boom, and it is known for having had the neck pickup reinstalled with its magnet reversed, which gives the middle position of the switch an out-of-phase sound that became a signature of the players who owned it. The guitar passed through the hands of several prominent musicians over the decades and was later acquired by a major collector, and its tone and history are much discussed by players.
