The Jackson King V is a symmetrical double-cutaway V built for fast playing, and it has become one of the brand's defining outlines.

Why it matters

The King V began as a player-commissioned design and ended up as a permanent part of Jackson's catalogue, which is why it carries the slim necks and flat fingerboard radii the company is known for. Sitting between the more extreme Rhoads shape and the superstrat models, it works for rhythm as well as lead playing. Players who want a V that balances on the leg tend to gravitate to this outline.

Note

Dave Mustaine-commissioned symmetrical double-cutaway V.
