Why it matters
The Classic is Suhr's S-type as the company builds it rather than as a customer specifies it, with a published street price of $3,599. What separates it from a stock S-type is consistency: the necks, bodies and pickups are all made in house, so the fit and the voicing stay the same from one example to the next. It is priced above most production S-types and below a full custom commission, which is the trade a buyer is making.
Note
Refined Stratocaster with Suhr voicing (V70 pickups etc.).
Specifications
- Scale length: unknown
- Neck shape: unknown
Before you buy
- Pickup set and neck profile vary by model code, so match the specification to the sound being sought
- Pre-configured stock moves quickly, and a custom order means a long wait
- A custom-ordered instrument can be harder to resell than a standard production spec
