Why it matters
The Baby Taylor showed that a small, inexpensive acoustic could still play properly, and most travel guitars made since have been measured against it. The BT1 and BT2 are versions of the same small body, and the model number is the way to tell them apart at a dealer. It is a travel and beginner instrument first and a recording guitar second, which is exactly the brief it was designed for.
Note
The original modern travel guitar.
Specifications
- Scale length: unknown
- Neck shape: unknown
Before you buy
- Short scale means it will not feel like a full-size acoustic, so treat it as a second instrument rather than a main one
- Small bodies give less low end, which is the trade for portability
- A padded case is worth budgeting for if the guitar will be flown
