Why it matters
Supernylgut keeps the gut-like density that made Nylgut the default and answers its two practical complaints. Aquila measures moisture absorption below 0.1% against roughly 2.0% for the nylon normally used in musical strings, which is the number behind the claim that it holds tuning through humidity changes. It is also the material Aquila now uses in its anniversary and signature sets, so it is where the range has moved.
Note
The updated Nylgut. Aquila changed the material rather than the idea: it stretches less than Nylgut, so it settles into tune faster and holds better, and it resists the sharp edges at a nut or a capo that can cut a softer string.
