Ampeg's flagship lightweight head: 1,200 watts, an all-analog Legacy preamp, and SVT and B15 voicings inside the overdrive.
Watch
The Bass Channel's video on the Ampeg Venture V12 shows the head in use.
Why it matters
The preamp is analog rather than modelled, and the SGT overdrive carries both SVT and B15 voicings, which is the Ampeg character most players are buying. Tone shaping runs through a three-band EQ with sweepable mids, an Ultra Hi switch and a three-way Ultra Lo switch, and the effects loop has a mix control for parallel use. It weighs 8.4 lb and has been part of stage rigs since 2023.
Note
The flagship of Ampeg's lightweight Venture Series and a mainstay of modern stage rigs: a 1,200-watt Class D head with an all-analog Legacy preamp, sweepable-mid EQ and the SVT/B15-voiced Super Grit overdrive, all under nine pounds.
