Rex Brown's signature 800-watt head, built in the UK on Ashdown's Rootmaster platform.
Watch
Guitar World's NAMM 2026 round-up covers Ashdown's UK-built range, so the RB-800 appears alongside the rest of the line rather than on its own.
Why it matters
It carries the Rootmaster feature set — five-band EQ, sub-harmonic generator, one-knob compressor and a valve-emulated drive — in a 5.5 lb chassis. The DI section is more complete than most at this level, with an analogue cab-sim output plus a post-EQ XLR for sending a shaped signal to a desk. Debuted at NAMM 2025.
Note
Debuted at NAMM 2025, the UK-made RB-800 is Pantera bassist Rex Brown's signature head, built on the Rootmaster platform. It packs an 800-watt Class D power stage, a five-band EQ, sub-harmonic generator and an analogue cab-sim DI into a 5.5 lb chassis.
