Why it matters
The RG550 sits above Ibanez's Indonesian-built RG models and below the premium Japanese lines, using a Super Wizard neck and the original pickup layout. Genesis versions keep the vivid finishes of the period, which is why they sell to players after that specific look and feel. Prestige RGs cost more and add Japanese hand-finishing on top of the same platform.
