Watch
Julian Arias' full deep dive takes the plugin through its Deluxe Reverb-style settings, and Silly Billy Sound Farm tests the limits of the stock sounds.
Why it matters
It runs natively in VST3, AU and AAX hosts without Apollo hardware, which is what opened this line to players outside the UAD ecosystem. Six speaker-cabinet setups and studio mics are modelled along with the spring reverb and vibrato, plus custom mods and boosts. The price has fallen from the $299 launch MSRP, and UA runs frequent promotions on the guitar line, so the street price moves.
Note
Universal Audio's native UAD amp plugins bring the UAFX pedals into the DAW with no Apollo hardware needed; Dream '65 is the Fender-style model. It launched in October 2024 at $299 MSRP and now lists at $149, with UA running deep discounts on the guitar line.
