The EVH Striped Series 5150 is a graphic-covered single-humbucker electric based on Eddie Van Halen's own instrument, for players who want the look and the setup together.

Why it matters
The Striped Series exists to put Eddie Van Halen's stage guitars into production at attainable prices, and the 5150 is the newest addition to that set. It shares its pricing and format with the other striped models such as the Shark, so the differences come down to graphics rather than specification. Buying one is usually a decision about which stripe motif suits, since the underlying guitar is deliberately simple.
Note
Block-letter striped homage to the 80s Kramer-era guitars.
Specifications
- Scale length: 647.7 mm (25.5 in)
- Neck shape: unknown
Before you buy
- The graphic is the purchase, so inspect it closely on any used example
- Striped Series finishes come and go, and limited runs sell through
- Single-pickup layouts are intentionally narrow in tonal range
