Fender's Acoustasonic Player: a thin hybrid that switches between acoustic-style and electric voices.
Watch
Why it matters
The Acoustasonic is a compromise instrument and Fender sells it as one that covers stage and studio without changing guitars, rather than as a substitute for either a real acoustic or a solidbody. The voicing control and blend let a player move between acoustic-style tones and electric pickups mid-set. It occupies a small segment of the market, so specifications and pickup sets differ noticeably between versions.
Note
Polarizing thin acoustic/electric hybrid with voicing shaper; controversial but genuinely innovative.
Specifications
- Scale length: 647.7 mm (25.5 in)
- Neck shape: Modern Deep C
Before you buy
- It is a hybrid: compare one against a real acoustic and a real electric
- Models differ by pickup set and body shape
- The voicing controls take time to learn
