Watch
Kanile'a's own Platinum X video is an "Old and New" sound demo played by Matt Dahlberg, so you can hear the 2025 tenor next to an earlier Platinum model, and the channel also has a 10-year Platinum retrospective.
Why it matters
It is the 2025 flagship of Kanile'a's Platinum series, which has run annually for a decade, and each instrument uses ten native Hawaiian woods with the company's Tru-Relief contouring and Tru-Reduction construction. Only ten are being built. At $10,000 listed at Guitar Center in September 2026, the price reflects the limited run and the master-grade koa rather than features you can compare spec for spec with standard production tenors.
Note
Kanile'a's 2025 flagship and the successor chapter to its decade-long annual Platinum series: ten hand-built tenors in master-grade Hawaiian koa with the company's Tru-Relief and Tru-Reduction build features, listed at $10,000 at Guitar Center in September 2026.
