Positive Grid's AI-assisted amp sim plugin, sold as a one-time purchase and replacing the discontinued BIAS FX 2.
Watch
Mitch Avedon's clip tests the AI-built tones, Positive Grid's own channel shows a modern metal rig, and All About Guitar walks through the AI tone engine.
Why it matters
It ships 33 AI-modelled amps and 100+ effects, but the tone builder is the difference: a rig can start from a text prompt or an uploaded guitar clip rather than a preset list. Version 1.2 (January 2026) added MIDI control and host automation, which is what a plugin needs before it can sit in a live or studio rig. The one-time price also means no subscription to keep it running.
Note
BIAS X launched in September 2025 as the successor to the discontinued BIAS FX 2, with an AI-assisted tone engine that can build a rig from a text prompt or an uploaded guitar clip. Positive Grid's own product page lists it at $149 one-time.
