Why it matters
The Silver Sky is PRS's three-single-coil instrument developed with John Mayer and has become one of the company's most visible models. Limited colourways such as Wild Blue are produced in fixed numbers — the first Silver Sky with a matching painted headstock — so they sell through and reappear used at a premium. Mojave Brown Satin is a standard-range addition rather than a limited run, so it stays available.
Note
2026 Silver Sky limited (Wild Blue, 1,000 units with John Mayer) and new Mojave Brown Satin finish.
Specifications
- Scale length: 647.7 mm (25.5 in)
- Neck shape: 635 JM-R
Before you buy
- limited finishes sell out quickly and resell above standard colours
- the core Silver Sky is a different instrument from the SE version
- satin finishes mark more easily than gloss
