Why it matters
In the V market Dean is one of the few names offering the shape well below the American-made options. The Classic Series V 79 pairs an eastern mahogany body with a set mahogany neck, and Floyd Rose and Duncan-equipped versions sit further up the line. Which finishes are available shifts over time.
Note
Dean's pointed V.
Specifications
- Scale length: 628.6 mm (24.75 in)
- Neck shape: Soft V
Before you buy
- V bodies will not stand up unaided, so allow for a stand or hanger
- Set-neck and bolt-on versions feel different
- Confirm the finish and hardware of the exact model
