A fully hollow thinline electric with P-90 pickups, the ES-330 is Gibson's airier alternative to the ES-335.

Why it matters
The ES-330 has no centre block, so it responds differently from the semi-hollow models most players know, with more air in the note and a quicker decay. Gibson has brought it back into the line-up after periods out of production, which keeps it a specialist choice rather than a stock item. It is closely related to the Epiphone Casino, so the two are often compared directly.
