Why it matters
The 401 designation sits in the middle of LTD's numbering, above the 200 models and below the deluxe builds, and it is where many players first met ESP's take on the V and Explorer outlines. Availability now depends on remaining dealer stock, since the series has been revised several times. With used examples common, condition and original hardware matter more than the badge.
Note
V (Viper) and Explorer (EX) shapes at mid prices.
Specifications
- Scale length: unknown

Before you buy
- The V and EX shapes hang differently on a strap, so try both
- Dealer stock is intermittent for older series numbers
- Confirm the pickup set, as it changed between years
