Music Man's take on the double-cutaway bolt-on, with a circuit that quietens single-coil hum.

Why it matters
The Cutlass sits in Music Man's US line as the familiar three-pickup shape, but with the company's own hardware and electronics rather than copies. The Silent Circuit is the main difference: it suppresses single-coil hum without changing the character of the pickups. Anyone comparing it with a Stratocaster is choosing between a familiar layout and Music Man's own build and feel.
Note
Music Man's refined Strat-alike with Silent Circuit.
Specifications
- Scale length: 648 mm (25.512 in)
- Neck shape: unknown
Before you buy
- US models carry a clear premium over the imported Sterling versions of the same shape
- The range covers different pickup layouts and necks, so specification varies by model
- Resale holds reasonably, but the buyer pool is smaller than for the largest American brands
