Recording King's 000-size acoustics from the Tonewood Reserve series, built around solid timber and older-style detailing.

Why it matters
The RO range uses the 000 body, which is smaller than a dreadnought and gives a more even response across the strings. The Tonewood Reserve versions are all-solid, and the RO-318 pairs that with an aged Adirondack spruce top, which is unusual at this price. That combination puts them against the imported all-solid guitars from the larger acoustic names.
Note
Vintage-spec 000s with deep rosettes.
Specifications
- Scale length: 632.5 mm (24.9 in)
- Neck shape: Thin V
Before you buy
- The 310 and 318 are separate models with different specifications, so the numbers are not interchangeable
- Small bodies suit fingerstyle and light strumming more than heavy flatpicking
- A 000 gives up some volume to a dreadnought in a group setting

“Just a side note here: In the video I misstated the nut width.”
