Watch
Taylor's own "Next Generation Explained" video goes through what changed in the Grand Auditorium, and Oklahoma Music Co. has a separate video on the 2026 814ce.
Why it matters
It is the centrepiece of Taylor's Next Generation rollout, announced in January 2026. The three changes that matter are scalloped V-Class bracing, the new Claria under-saddle pickup system and the Action Control Neck, a long-tenon bolt-adjustable design that lets neck angle be adjusted after the guitar is built. Sitka spruce over Indian rosewood with a Venetian cutaway keeps the 814ce's familiar wood set, at a 1-3/4 in nut width and 25-1/2 in scale.
Note
Announced in January 2026, the Next Generation 814ce updates Taylor's flagship Grand Auditorium with scalloped V-Class bracing, the new Claria under-saddle pickup system and the Action Control Neck. It is the centrepiece of the broader Next Generation rollout.
