Why it matters
Collings occupies the small-shop tier where standard appointments are already at the level other makers charge extra for, and the OM2H is the most widely used reference point in its range. The twelve-fret 00 is the more intimate alternative for players who find an OM too loud under the hand. Both are made in Texas and sold through dealers, so what is in stock shapes the purchase.
Note
The OM benchmark.
Specifications
- Scale length: 647.7 mm (25.5 in)
- Neck shape: Modified V
Before you buy
- Dealer stock decides what is actually available
- Twelve-fret 00 and OM bodies respond differently to hard strumming
- Used prices sit close to new, so condition matters
