Why it matters
The ASAT Classic is the model most players mean when they talk about a G&L take on the single-cutaway bolt-on. It uses G&L's own MFD single coils and a bridge plate of the company's design rather than copies of the originals. G&L ceased US production in 2025, so new stock is limited to what dealers still hold.
Note
Leo Fender's own take on the Telecaster, with MFD single coils.

Before you buy
- Much of what sells under the Tribute name is the import line, which is a different instrument
- USA and Tribute models share the ASAT Classic name, so check the origin and year
- With production ended, parts and warranty support are the open question
