Why it matters
Larrivée runs its own workshop and sells direct as well as through dealers, which puts the Artist Series at the accessible end of a hand-building shop. The compact body makes the PV-09 comfortable for fingerstyle and easy to record, and it costs a fraction of the brand's custom work. Parlor guitars have grown steadily in popularity as players look for smaller alternatives to dreadnoughts.
