Squier's Affinity line is the entry point to Fender's bolt-on shapes, with slightly slimmer bodies and student-level hardware at accessible prices.

Watch

Why it matters

Affinity sits above the cheapest Squier bundles and below Classic Vibe, and it is the range most often suggested as a first proper electric. Bodies are a little thinner than the Fender originals and the hardware is basic, but the outlines and neck dimensions are close enough to learn on without fighting the instrument. The line covers Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jazz Bass and Precision Bass shapes, so a new player can pick a familiar silhouette.

Note

Entry-level line; slim bodies and thin finishes at student prices.
