Why it matters
The Thinline has moved in and out of the Fender line since its late-1960s debut, and current production leans on the 1970s versions, including the wide-range humbucker era. It is the simplest route to a semi-hollow feel inside the Telecaster format, and it stays usable on stage where a full hollow body would feed back. Because Fender revises the line often, the specific series matters more than the shape.
Note
Hollowed Tele with f-hole; original 1968 maple-hollow and 1972 humbucker (Wide Range) versions.
