Inspired by Gibson Futura Explorer Custom

An Explorer-shaped electric from Epiphone's new-for-2026 Futura series, with revoiced higher-output ProBucker Ignite humbuckers.

Watch

Guitar Bonedo's clip is a sound demo of the Futura Explorer Custom, and Guitar Center's NAMM 2026 video covers the wider Futura collection.

Why it matters

The Futura series is Epiphone's 2026 reworking of Gibson's most recognisable shapes with modern, higher-output electronics, and the Explorer Custom is part of that first group of models. Its ProBucker Ignite humbuckers are revoiced for more output than the standard version. The body is the familiar Explorer shape. It is listed at $899 as of September 2026, which puts it in the middle of the Epiphone electric range.

Note

Part of Epiphone's new-for-2026 Futura series, which reworks Gibson's most iconic shapes with modern, higher-output electronics. The Explorer Custom gets revoiced ProBucker Ignite humbuckers and stage-ready appointments at a mid budget.
